Just so you all know, I have to stay out of the discussion about his post. I am a licensed mental health counselor now, and I could endanger my license if it appeared I was trying to counsel someone in that kind of situation in any way that sounded official, since I am not treating them. It’s a fine line sometimes, but this one seems clearly across the line.

Understood. There’s clearly some pain there, and I likewise believe there has been some good advice. There might be more than we can offer needed, as in professional counseling. I think that is really the bottom line. I don’t think his issues stem from faith transitions as much as other marital issues. He states he has had church doubts since before they were married. And that she has family who are no longer attending or practicing and she gets along with them fine. I think we’re just a good sounding board. I was able to reply without getting clinical solely because of the comments from everyone else. Thank you!
