GuestHi, I just found this forum today hoping to find an LDS forum that is uplifting and encouraging. I am a member since 8 and have had varying degrees of activity and some struggles along the path. I have always had faith and respect for the church and God. April 10, 2020 at 10:39 am #339335Anonymous

GuestCould someone give me a brief overview of what this forum is like and if it’s designed for something/certain people in particular. I signed up just yesterday before I noticed the secondary title of “alternative ways to stay in the church”. I came here from a different forum because it’s became intensely anti-LDS so I hope I’m in the right place, really could use a new forum.
Thanks.

Thanks.
My advice is go to the Section above Introductions titled: Rules & Policies. Within that section is a post titled: Mission Statement
A portion includes the following: TO OUR FRIENDS WITH DOUBTS AND CONCERNS:
Quote:Welcome! You are not alone. StayLDS.com exists to help people find a positive experience as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The information provided and discussed is primarily geared towards members of the Church who have questions, concerns, problems and issues that led them to change their views about their faith. This is often in the form of a heart-wrenching disillusionment. We are here to listen, and to offer advice to each other. You can talk about it here. This is a safe place to discuss difficult subjects — many of which we simply can’t talk about within our normal social support network. Family, close friends and even local Church leaders are not always ready or able to help. You might not be able to talk about it with your spouse, your mother, your father or your friend at Church. You can talk about it here.
We openly discuss problems in history, doctrine, practices and culture. We also openly discuss solutions that have helped people in the community reconcile themselves, and find a new, personal path of active faith within our rich LDS tradition. There is no going backwards. There are paths forward. We also discuss problems and solutions regarding the impact a change in faith can have on our family, friends, workplace and community.
The purpose of the site is to try to Stay LDS, and be a part of the solution.

GuestI’d suggest having a look around. Read some of the topics/threads. If you think you fit, hang around. While we are a pretty open and inclusive group, some people just don’t feel like they fit. FWIW, we are moderated pretty closely and anti stuff is not permitted in the least. April 13, 2020 at 5:38 pm #339341Anonymous
GuestWelcome Susan! I hope you find support here. Most of those that come here do so looking for support in continuing with church participation while at the same time receiving validation of their feelings of hurt towards some church topics.
You are among friends!
