As I said in the Lifecycle post, my job has caused me essentially to stop checking in and posting here for a while. I work as a mental health counselor in a prison, and we have been on various levels of lockdown for a while due to a major COVID-19 outbreak. Roughly 75% of the residents and a large percentage of staff have tested positive over the last two months. I have been working a ton of overtime hours filling in for security staff and have had to limit my online time mostly to checking Facebook in order to keep up on friends and family. Frankly, the craziness of the election hysteria hasn’t helped.
I just want to let everyone know that it appears the situation at work is near a probable end. If that happens, I will be checking in and participating more often again.
I want to thank all of you for keeping things going and under control. I know overall participation has been down, but I am grateful for your diligence and dedication. Leading up to Thanksgiving, you all are high on my list.
:thumbup: We’ve missed, or at least I have. These are tough times. We have had similar outbreaks at my agency’s youth facilities but I suppose I have been lucky/blessed to be in the situation of facility closure where we haven’t had youth. I have been prevented from starting my new position at a different facility because of their outbreak which is over (other facilities are still coping). Glad to hear from you again, have a great Thanksgiving.
