GuestHere’s the justification text: Quote:Activation Justification: to report wrong doings and a crime commited from a member of the church
This isn’t the place to report crimes. Maybe this is more about airing grievances. I’m not sure we want to invite that kind of trouble here.

GuestAgreed. If there’s a crime to report call the police. I suppose there is a chance the person is looking for support and maybe does want to air some grievances against the church, but but given the wording of the justification I’m also not sure this is the place for them.
Interesting we’re getting these kinds of requests of late. The Asian spammers were easy to decide against.

GuestNope. Not here. Not appropriate at all. March 25, 2024 at 1:43 pm #344859Anonymous
GuestWeird this is happening again. Today’s request by “Roglegg” uses the justification ” I’m a member trying to report a problematic member not following the rules of our church.” A quick look appears that this is not the same individual as bobbyhowardkish64 (with what I remember about that request IP info, etc.). I get that people can become frustrated because there is little accountability on leaders doing things seeming untoward. There is no hotline reporting mechanism if for example your stake president is doing something you think is wrong, and they can get away with abuse in the home, covering up abuse by others, or treating people poorly and unfairly (including racism, sexism, anti-LGTBQ+). But other than saying “Gee, I’m really sorry this happened to you/your relative/your friend” there’s nothing we can do here and these situations are just not our purpose.
We have some rules about talking about or addressing people outside this forum, perhaps we need some additional verbiage about how it is not our mission to redress grievances against the church or church leaders/members?

GuestIt read similar enough to make me initially believe that it was the same person. I should have included the IP and email address in the original post, that way we’d have a record of it even after the user request is deleted.
I agree, I’m not sure what they hope to achieve here. We’ve got less than zero authority.
