GuestFabulous OP on how to talk to conservative members when you seek change. http://www.wheatandtares.org/19225/6-ways-to-shut-down-a-gender-equality-discussion/ October 9, 2015 at 4:52 pm #304980Anonymous
GuestAmen. Side note, I dream of being able to write as cogently and cohesively as Hawkgrrl and Mary Ann.

GuestI’ve spent a lifetime learning firsthand what not to do. I’ll have to add these to the list. So far my list of things to do is very short. Stay quiet. It’s the only way to be sure.

Perhaps my plan stems from #5 in the article.

GuestFantastic post!! Loved it and the comments after! Way to go Mary Ann and Hawkgrrl! October 10, 2015 at 9:50 am #304983Anonymous
GuestI hope it starts some good conversations. What do you think of her idea (down in the comments) that these are tips to start discussions amongst women? I understand that she’s not saying to not talk with men, but why be more concerned with female/female interactions?

GuestThis may or may not help, but I keep it in a notebook I carry with me, and hope if serious contention comes up to use it as a conversation balm and discussion door opener. Quote:2015 Women’s Conference, Elder Ballard, – I invite you devoted sisters to make sure no schism or division exists within your families or your church congregations, even with regards to such potentially divisive subjects as the current conversation regarding women and the priesthood. Let us deal patiently with one another and treat each other with Christian kindness and respect, despite strong feelings and strong differences that may exist.
