Not to be cynical, but what else could he have said? And if he said anything else but, would have DN published it?

What if he said he was disappointed in not being called back into the FP, but he was going to support the new FP in any way he could. Would they have published that? What if he said he has always butted heads with Nelson, so it was not a surprise he wasn’t called back to the FP?

Sheldon, DN may not have published anything “negative” it but I bet the Trib would.

What I think is notable is that he said anything at all. It shows that at least he pays attention to what people are saying and thinks it worth responding to. And, I think what he said is very classy. It would be very easy to take an aloof or even snobbish approach and very honestly that’s the approach I think some others would have taken.
