GuestI was searching the Web and lucked into this concept of MAN CHURCH. It’s a congregation within a congregation that caters to issues facing men. Boys are also welcome. They only hold it once a month, which I figured since there is a cost to the organization holding it (read on). Here is the website advertising it. Apparently, they also serve a free meal too ($$):

What is cool about it is that it’s a church within a church. I assume they have a regular congregation that meets at that building, but this is like a sub-unit, getting the most out of the building (thinking like a Mormon, I am). Applying my Michael Porter Business Strategy knowledge to the situation, the Baptist church is following a narrow differentiator strategy, focusing on one sub-unit of the “market”. Also interesting is how they are willing to segregate men and women this way — uncommon in this era of gender equality and attempts to erase differences between the sexes.

GuestWouldn’t that be somewhat similar to the EQ and RS? September 26, 2022 at 9:39 pm #343094Anonymous

Yes, the same idea, I guess. It’s a combination meet and greet and EQ meeting.

GuestCould be new. Our local Methodist church has been doing something like this for years. From their Facebook page: Quote:Men’s Breakfast/Study Group – 3rd Sat morning each month
Women’s “WORD” Study-2nd Thursday evening each month
All Small Group Studies-Every Wednesday evening
Children and Youth F.A.I.T.H. Night-Every Wednesday evening
I have thought about going to the men’s thing (they also advertise on their sign out front which welcomes all men) but alas I’m not much of an early riser Saturdays. My kids did go to the youth thing sometimes with their friends.
Were our church to do something like this I’d be much more likely to participate in priesthood meeting. I think we don’t “fellowship” enough among men. I have brought this up in the past to very quiet crickets. Then again, prior to the block everyone did meet during the week at different times – that’s why the block came about.

GuestI have noticed something similar called a men’s retreat where the men of the church go up to a cabin in the woods to do activities, bond, and testify to each other. This was at a non-LDS Christian church. It sounded cool but I never have a full weekend off. SilentDawning wrote:

I think that church environments are still targeting different demographics, teens, young singles, couples, families, men, & women.

GuestWithout such gender instruction how would future generations know that men are supposed to take out the garbage and women are supposed to clean toilets? Sorry for my strange sense of humor. September 29, 2022 at 1:29 pm #343098Anonymous
GuestSo, it is a traditional church.
