Good luck, mackay11. Thank you for telling us about your blog. I will have to check it out sometime.

I’m tentatively dipping my toe back into the waters of the bloggernacle after my self-imposed 5-month absence. I’ve still been reading from time-to-time but not contributing very much.

I’m not going to be posting very much on the general threads (sorry if that sounds aloof, it’s not meant to – it’s a survival tactic to avoid getting sucked back into it all too quickly). I wanted to share a little project I’ve started. It’s similar to the “Useful Quote of the Day” thread. I’ve created a new blog called “LDS History from LDS Sources.”

The intention is to create a place that people like us can either send our friends and family to read or, if that’s too much of a stretch, to provide you with a resource of links that you can send (rather than my blog as a potentially subjective middle-man).

I intend to make it as neutral as possible. I want to give the church a chance to tell its own story.

Today I feel at peace with my perspectives. I consider myself a Universalist who attends Mormon services.

Things have changed a bit for me over the last few months. It’s now over a year since I got back from China. I attended my local brand for nearly a year but over time I’ve attended less often. I was released, by request, from my calling as WML and stopped weekly attendance. I still attend from time-to-time, usually at other units where my family live. I might share a post about the experience another time. I think the above statement from June still stands… I’m a Universalist, I just don’t make Mormon services as frequent a part of my spirituality any more.

Thanks for dropping by. Its good to see you even for a minute. I kind of assumed you were stepping away from Mormonism. May your journey bring you joy. Thanks for all of your efforts here. They helped me a lot.

It’s good to see you again, Mac, even if it’s on a limited basis. I like your history idea, I think it could be of great benefit when we talk with our more orthodox (and perhaps more ignorant) friends. (Note: I don’t mean ignorant in a negative connotation – I mean it to be taken literally, that is that the people are not aware of the information.)
