Just to let you know that Angry Mormon went off on me in a PM about my comments in the current thread about whether or not polygamy will be re-instituted in the US. He said he was so mad he was shaking. I told him I was curious about where he lives that a member of the Stake Presidency would speculate about polygamy in any way that seemed happy about it happening again, and he said he wasn’t about to tell me because he didn’t want to be “outed” to his leaders. He also said he believes, based on my comments “defending Joseph Smith and polygamy” that the LDS Church is a soulless, brainwashing cult that steals its members money. He called Joseph a rapist and said there is ample evidence that all of Joseph’s sealings / marriages were primarily about sex.

I was really blunt with him and told him that the thought of us outing anyone is incomprehensible and highly offensive. I told him if he leaves, he needs to own that decision and not blame us or anyone else. I reiterated that nothing in my comments was defending Joseph or polygamy; rather, it simply was a request that we be accurate in what we say about that topic.

I just want all of you to know about what’s going on with him, so you won’t be surprised if he explodes in a public forum.

Sounds like you handled it as best you could. Not always a lot you can do about those folks. Sounds like he was making you a proxy for the people in his life he was really angry with but doesn’t tell them.
