Antichrist: The explanation that I’ve always heard in church lessons follows exactly what is on lds.org:

    https://www.lds.org/scriptures/gs/antichrist” class=”bbcode_url”>https://www.lds.org/scriptures/gs/antichrist

Namely any person or teaching contrary to the gospel of Jesus. I’ve never heard the concept of *the* Antichrist, meaning one specific person that emerges in the last days. If there’s a *the* it’s got to be the devil.

Tribulation: Perhaps I need your definition of this first. When I hear *the* tribulation I think of the myriad of conclusions people have jumped to after reading the cryptic things found in the Book of Apocalypse/Revelation. Often end of the world predictions refer to specific things that cannot be found in any scripture.

It’s odd for a church with such an eschatological basis (even down to the LDS name) that we don’t deal with this much.

Revelation is the most controversial book in the NT. But one thing which is fairly clear is that there are at least three evil beings mentioned in it, i.e. the beast/dragon, the whore and the false prophet/probable Antichrist.
