    They also are hypocrites.

They aren’t the original owners of the land they say the government stole from the people; they won’t give it back to the Native American Indian tribes from whom it was taken; the Bundys have accepted government assistance in various forms for decades – and that assistance has played a key role in their economic success.

Plus, they really are stupid people and terrible organizers.

My concern is not what the Bundy’s and their followers did is that they see God’s hand in it and claim a confirmation of the Spirit that they’re doing the right thing. When someone claims a witness that what they’re doing is right with a capital R and it’s clearly not what you believe, how can you give credence to anyone’s testimony or trust what you might have felt yourself?

It is a reminder to us all that no matter who claims what by whatever source they want to claim…there is no escaping the universe’s rules of choice and accountability. Regardless of what others claim, I will go through the same process to find truth in my life.

    – Study it out

    – Pray about it

    – Think through what feels right

    – Consult wise and experienced people on it

    – Consult scripture and expert sources

    – Make a choice

    – See what feels right as I go

    – Learn from it if the fruit bears good things or not.

    – Keep doing it if the fruit is good

    – Discard it if the fruit is bad

    – Use faith when the fruit is yet to be determined good or bad

I can only give so much credence to other people’s claims. I do find that I begin to trust my family or close friends after seeing many patterns of trustworthy choices and it becomes easier to give more credence, but even still, I have to come to my own conclusion, and follow my heart on what I feel is right.

I don’t know these people and they seem like whackadoos. So…they are nutty. That’s all. They can claim whatever they want from whatever source they want. I dismiss them entirely based on whackiness.

Should someone I completely trust and know well have claims from God to do the exact same thing…it would be harder for me to really look at what is going on…but even then…there are limits.

It all comes down to personal revelation.

And…it also reminds me how I must sound to others when I have a testimony based on God telling me something. But…I hope to gain others’ trust by showing that my calling from God leads to good things…not whackadoo craziness.

Throwing around “God told me to…” holds as much weight as reading on the internet someone say “A scientific study shows that…”

My response is the same. Show me the proof. Show me the source of your claims. If they can’t, I use my brain and intuition….and keep calling them whackadoos!

There are a lot of dumb and horrible things done in the name of God. It is sad.
