Please read our exchange in the “New and Despondent” thread and tell me if I went over the proper line for an admin. I weighed whether or not I should react that way and decided to blast both barrels, largely because I wanted to make the points about abiding by the rules and taking ownership of personal choices at a site like this (and to draw a clear line for banning someone), but I will self-moderate my response if you think it is inappropriate and too harsh.

It would have come off better coming from one of us probably – since it was about you it seems a bit defensive. But we weren’t there, so what can you do. I think it’s OK, but it wouldn’t hurt to have some of us supporting you now as I’ve tried to do.

I’d say the “shove it” part is out of line with the spirit of what we try to do and a bad example coming from an Admin, I would prefer that to be worded more diplomatically.

That being said I am constantly blown away at the amount of time and effort you are able to put in here Ray, it is definitely a healthier place because you care so much.

Thanks for the imput. I knew I would have to remove the personal response part, but my immature side won the original battle. 😳

I went back and edited the comment, with a note saying I did so. I figured it was important to show that the moderation policy applied to all of us when we cross the lines.
