GuestHi all, Have any of you taken this quiz on
http://www.beliefnet.com before? I’ve taken it twice now, once at the beginning of my questioning (99% LDS), and again today (100% Unitarian Universalist). I am amazed at how much my thoughts and beliefs have changed in the past few months! Just for fun, my other results within the top 75% were Jainism, Quaker, Sikhism, Hinduism, Conservative Christian/Protestant, and Neo-Pagan. Quite the mix, right? So if you’ve done this before, what were your results? I guess since this is StayLDS, maybe I shouldn’t ask, but if you were going to change religions, where would you go? And why? (Sounds like an essay question assignment;))

GuestI’m a reformed Jew! 😆 I actually have friends that are reform Jews, and I don’t really think my beliefs relate that closely with theirs. I do revere them and Judaism in general, however I wouldn’t become a Jew. I have considered the question of what other religion I might be were I not LDS before. Were I not LDS, I would not be a member of any religion, and may choose my own form of private, Christian worship (which I do to an extent anyway).December 4, 2013 at 9:15 pm #277446Anonymous
GuestI do remember this quiz. Fascinating. Some of us here took the quiz and had a discussion about it (see this
)threadMy top 3 results back then were:
1. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (100%)
2. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons) (87%)
3. Jehovah’s Witness (78%)
Interesting stuff.

GuestAh, thanks for the link! That thread was in 2009. Have any of you that posted then retaken the test lately? I’m just curious to know if the results have changed much. December 4, 2013 at 9:33 pm #277448Anonymous
GuestI took the quiz. Apparently I’m Unitarian Universalist. However I answered neutral, n/a to quite a few and even others the best answer didn’t fit. Obviously the quiz is for entertainment purposes. My faith is way to complex to be able to figure out with multiple choice questions. I’m obviously LDS….

GuestMy results vary depending on how I choose to interpret some of the questions (since some of them have multiple answers with which I can be comfortable, and at least one doesn’t have an answer I like), but I generally end up being classified with the LDS Church, Unitarian Universalist or Mainline Liberal Protestant – again, depending totally on the day I take the quiz and how I choose to interpret the questions. I think Liberal Mormon would be the best category, based on all the factors.

GuestUnitarian Universalism (100%)
- Theravada Buddhism (95%)
- Mayhayana Buddhism (90%)
- Taoism (83%)
Now I’ve got to go look up what some of the tenants/practices/beliefs of those groups are.
I’ll agree though. The choices were limited (understandably so). In the end I did what most did and interpreted a choice in a certain way and went with it, I’m sure I’d get wildly different results if I took it again… even right now. I guess it depends on what mood I’m in at the time.
Edit:
It’s entertaining to go back and read the definitions that the site gives about each group. It makes me wonder what their matching algorithm looks like.

GuestUnitarian Universalism 100% Theravada Buddhism 91%
Secular Humanism 88%
Liberal Quaker 78%
…
Mormons 44%
I’m a little surprised. I shouldn’t say this but internally I’ve kind of looked down on Universalists. Guess I need to rethink that.

GuestThis was a really interesting quiz! It says my beliefs are 100% liberal Quaker! 93% reformed Judaism, 89% liberal Christian Protestant December 8, 2013 at 10:31 pm #277441Anonymous
GuestHow did you all get %s? Mine was just “Unitarian universalists.” I’m a bit curious now. Do they exist in UK? December 8, 2013 at 10:32 pm #277443Anonymous
GuestLots of UU on this thread. Are we sure they don’t sponsor the website? December 8, 2013 at 10:55 pm #277442Anonymous
GuestIn order: Reformed Judaism 100%
Orthodox Judaism 92%
Unitarian 90%
Liberal Quaker 84%
Mormon 84%
Interesting results. Didn’t even know there were Liberal Quakers.

The quiz will give you your best “fit” at the end but will also send an e-mail with the percentages for all the religions on their site.
