Since I now know we are getting so much traffic, it enouraged me to pay more attention to our main page and keep some fresh content there. I am swamped for time, and if I really get around to writing serious blog articles, I want to post them at MormonMatters. I will try to get into the habit of posting some of the good content from the forums on the blog section of the website. I think that helps traffic, search engine coverage, and interest from people who might surf by the site.
If you guys feel inspired by something in the forums, feel free to convert it into a blog-format and post it too. Of course get permission from the forum user if it isn’t your own material. I give blanket permission for the stuff I write in the forums.
I also give blanket approval for my stuff. I suggest Hawk’s current Mormon Matters post on Faith vs. Doubt. I think it is perfect for this forum. The url is:
I too give blanket approval for my stuff! I would also suggest that some of Andrew Ainsworth’s stuff has been very good in tone for the site. How did I not think of Andrew Ainsworth’s posts? They consistently are amazing. I was also thinking some of the early Clay Whipkey and John Nilsson posts might be good. Additionally, there was a really good one back in the day by AdamF (IIRC) about “What is the church?” I would suggest a separate “blogroll” on the sidebar called something like “Excellent Posts for Those Who Are Struggling”. I didn’t want to just copy old content from other blogs. I like the idea of the “blogroll” link list. That can change over time, or we can keep a “top 20.” That gets us cross-linking to other sites.
