Just wanted to share a website I found by coincidence. It is very detailed and many of the points seem plausible. I have known about boa issues for a while but this seems to even out the odds of boa being true a little. At least it’s much more in depth than the fair site IMO.

Thanks Bear. It remains important for me to at least allow faith to be viable.

Although I’ve come to terms with the idea of the Book of Mormon and Book of Abraham to be inspired texts that are solely from the mind of Joseph Smith (that there was never an original document by prophets that he translated) I also still try allow room for belief that they could still be ancient.

I’m reading (and reviewing) Mormon’s Codex at the moment. I don’t expect it to prove to me conclusively that the Book of Mormon is an ancient document. But it may be able to show that belief in an historical text is viable.

Yup. Completely agree. I’m mostly leaning towards a “real historic event” understanding but have been flirting with the “divine fiction” understanding but it doesn’t really work for me at the moment – navigating a faith crisis/transition it is SO important to keep your options open.

Actually I talked to dbmormon/a thoughtful faith podcast owner and he said he is in the progress of doing an in depth podcast about the book of Abraham. Who knows where that will lead me:)

A faith transition is a scary and wonderful thing! :)
