GuestI recently went through the email that the admin account for this website receives. Spam and a lot of it. I should stay on top of it more than I do. At any rate, I noticed many failed delivery messages mixed in with the spam and I think that the emails this board sends out may have either not worked at all or only partially worked for an unknown amount of time.
I tinkered with the settings and can’t quite get emails to work. I have left the board on settings where I at least saw some emails coming though but I thought I’d let everyone know that there’s an issue.

GuestThanks for your work with all the tech stuff! Are the failed emails notifying people they were approved or whatever?

GuestI haven’t seen email notifications for receiving a PM working. At all. I made some changes to the configuration and that dried up the failed delivery notifications but there are still silent failures. Cases where no email is received and there are no logged errors.
I’ve used the tool in the ACP to test the email settings and that tool only works sometimes. Meaning I send a test email and don’t receive it, then send another test email without making any changes to the configuration and receive it, then I send another without making any changes and don’t receive it. It’s flaky.
I don’t know about the emails that go out for notification that an account request has been approved. I’m assuming it’s just as flaky.
The only emails I’m legitimately concerned about are the ones that should go out when a user enters their email because they forgot their password and want the system to send them a link to reset it.

GuestSo I just got that email notification for the PM from hours ago so… shrugs. It’s hard to tell whether the site or the host is dragging on sending the emails or whether google is getting upset about processing the emails on their end.
I guess the only thing to do is let it ride for now.
