Now Paulista thinks his comment was edited / deleted, even though I said it hadn’t been touched. I think he saw the edit and didn’t bother reading my comment. We will see if he believes my re-emphasis that it was left unedited.
looks like Paulista clarified that he lost his post when his computer timed out. Yeah, I was happy to see that. No response from Cadence. We’ll see if he is done posting here or if he just ignores me and keeps posting with the problematic statements and forces our hand. Cadence posted again. Nothing controversial mind you. I am just wondering if he has responded to heber. I worry that his making such comments, getting called on the carpet, laying low for awhile, and then repeat may be a never ending cycle.
Situations like his and cwald’s are difficult, because we are reasonably good friends (or, at least, were before they started fighting our mission actively, since I think neither of them thinks of me as a friend anymore). We also know their situations and feel for them, deeply. I have taken deep breaths and let cwald take shots at me in a couple of his latest comments, and I will do the same with Cadence – unless he starts repeating his insults of all members and leaders again. We just can’t allow that from someone who has been around as long as he has.
What if we changed tactics a bit. I have met Cwald and his wife, and he has a personality that invites conflict. He can be warm and jovial then sting you in a millisecond. I know he’s hurting, but maybe if we took Ray out of the picture, and had one of the other Mods be the go between (Sorry guys), and if the rest of us made a concerted effort to follow the threads and either gently return conversations to a StayLDS direction or if either of them add positive contributions, support them in them. Either with a thumbs up icon or a “great point” – “I agree” statement. Sometimes the best way to kill a fire is redirect it.

(saying that “we can do better” is not allowed here.) It is so fundamentally wrong when it comes to this site that it simply requires a response. Pardon me, but, Holy Hell! Emotional reactions I understand; that specific charge, from someone who has read thousands of comments, old and new, including many from me, that refute that charge . . .
👿 I know he is bitter and angry right now, but that is SO over-the-top . . .
I plan on not commenting again, if you all will keep an eye on things.

Why Not Criticize Leaders?I noticed this morning that he did edit it, I can’t remember what it said last night but the post still has a few remnants of what he originally said.
I’ve never felt that cwald was deliberately trolling anyone but that last post… for the first time it felt like a trolling post. He wanted to communicate that he felt judged by the community.
For the record, I don’t know cwald from Adam. In the past I usually found myself on cwald’s side, mostly because I’ve agreed with a lot of the things he has said. I can understand how he gets frustrated, from his perspective I’m sure he probably feels like he is being targeted, which just drives his frustration.
It’s been a long time but I vaguely remember PM’ing cwald in the spirit of “I feel you” but I don’t ever remember getting any return PMs. We don’t have a rapport. That’s understandable, we don’t know each other. I don’t think I’m in a position to do much. Maybe none of us are.
I’m just now reading some of you all’s responses in that thread. God job. I guess it’s really all on him. I’ll miss his voice. At times I felt like he was doing his part in balancing the StayLDS equation.
