GuestWell,… what about this one?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0A97odud60ohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0A97odud60o” class=”bbcode_url”> Lots of just goofy stuff in this it seems,..but some of it has roots in things I’m aware of. So,…I’m curious of a general take.

GuestThis might not come as a surprise, but… I’m skeptical. The evidence he provided wasn’t “irrefutable” evidence. Mostly just seemed like conjecture. He referenced several points of evidence, but then didn’t share any details. More info needed.
If the story is true, it wouldn’t be shocking… not because our leaders are evil, but because it’s simply bound to happen… When bad people get power, they tend to do bad things. The Church is no guarantee of someone being good.
I also (sadly) wouldn’t be surprised if there was a coverup in the Church. Leaders have made several statements in the past implying strongly that it’s their duty to protect the Church at all costs. Maybe some of them view a case like this to be acceptable collateral damage.
If it is true, I would be in full support of complete justice. Using clout and power to marginalize a pedophile victim is absolutely filthy, and I don’t care what position you have or what good deeds you’ve done.

GuestA Nutjob. Is there any truth to his accusations? Who knows. But he states he is an esteemed professional and then goes on to state that he represented himself in court. Right there, with that move, he earned the Nutjob title.
Everything else is anger and conspiracy theory.

GuestI am sure we are seeing the best side, but you know the saying where there is smoke … Being an optimist, I keep thinking that all this noise is going to nudge the church to really get serious and fix some things within the church that need to be fixed.
I had to notice how he has the quad right behind him.

GuestSomething seems wrong with this story. This would have to be a huge conspiracy.
The Church, the judicial system and the police department would have to be in on it.
My daughter was molested as a child. After graduating High School, she went to school in SLC. The person who molested her had moved to SLC too.
She worked with the SLC police department, got him to confess after she wore a “wire” & they sent him to prison.
Individuals may conspire to protect an individual. It’s hard for me to believe it can be done on this massive a scale.
What he is suggesting is bigger than the Catholic church & Penn State scandals.
Blood oath or no blood oath. The Temple ordinances would never prevent me from turning in a pedaphile.

GuestMy take on it is he doesn’t present himself credibly. He appeals to things like: “Oh, I’m a generational mormon…” and so forth. He may have a legitimate gripe, but perhaps he is trying to fan the flames and make it more than a more isolated (or should I say individual) crime. Don’t know. If it were the real deal, I would expect to see significant posturing and things. I find it interesting the church published something about being the “Gold Standard” to prevent child abuse, and then this comes out. Timing it interesting….
but,…is there a pattern out there:

GuestThere is a post on one of the exmo sites (which we are not allowed to link to, so you’ll have to find it yourself) that says that this is all a hoax, that the guy in the video is crazy, and he has been denied child visitation because he is crazy. February 17, 2016 at 6:47 pm #309209Anonymous

Not surprised.Well being crazy doesn’t even stop one from running for president (in fact it might be a prerequisite).
He must have some $ also since it looked like he was creating a movie out of the issue.

I would agree at this point it is a hoax. The guy’s presentation is NOT one of calculated seriousness. He looks almost like he is mocking as he presents. Anyway…thanks for the feedback. I’m leaning toward this being just junk.
