i will let Cadence answer for himself, but I am sensing that this is his point exactly. How do we know Peter and Paul were doing anything but speaking their well intentioned opinions?

Perhaps we can clarify what “Divine Revelation” is and how we know it?

Are these Ray’s ideas? Peter, Paul, Joseph, Thomas Monson’s?

It seems to me, there must first be faith. Faith that God can work in our world to inspire our minds or speak to our spirits, including select seers and prophets.

If we do not believe that happens or is even possible, the discussion will always lead to disagreement.

Cadence, is it possible that revelation from God can happen?

I think that is my point — the current apostles and prophets do not claim higher authority than peter or paul, only that they are the same, and that as being the current apostles and prophets, their advice is for our day. I don’t understand how anyone could hold the current prophets or apostles up to a higher standard of infallability thant he original 12.
