My suspicion is that many of these books were written a few years before the earliest versions we have.

It may well be that the earliest church leaders knew Jesus or the immediate disciples and when that generation died off… it suddenly dawned on them they needed to copy the earliest manuscripts.

I think this, too, SamBee. And I think the versions we have may be slightly different that the originals (a la versions of the first vision) and/or may be retelling of the stories by others (probably relatives) of the people to whom the books are attributed.

I’m looking forward to reading this. Thank you! How long do you think it would be printed?

In Microsoft Word it is 72 pages. I don’t know what it would be if printed from the website. If anyone has a Kindle, I can email it.

The Gospels actually compare quite well with other major religions’ scriptures as historical records.

A lot of the Buddhist scriptures were written HUNDREDS of years later, not decades like the Gospels.

The Koran was completely LOST and rewritten from other people’s memories. This is important as Muslims go on about it being a perfect record of God’s dealings with Muhammad. It’s actually second hand recollections of what Muhammad claimed to have heard here.
