    Here at StayLDS we often complain about painful experiences dealing with Church leadership. As someone noted in this forum, our lay leadership is the good news and the bad news. While I struggle a bit with my current bishop’s rigidity and lack of compassion for my perspective, still he, like bishops world wide serve with dignity and caring, and honestly try to help their fellow human beings.

    Mormons, I believe is the only church of any substantial size that has no paid clergy. Relying on a staff of several hundred volunteers to run a ward amazes me when it works.
