IMO, the “doubt” that is much maligned in the church is the doubt that leads to inaction or to not taking the leap of faith. It’s not the doubt of uncertainty that leads one to question the nature of life or the existence of God because those doubts lead to study, prayer and spiritual quests. Either way, what is considered important is direction, intent, and action. Outcomes.

I saw that Daily gem in my inbox as well, and my thoughts were that it clarified some things for me on doubt.

The danger of doubt is doubting oneself or doubting God’s ability to show you truth or give you power.

Doubting ideas or teachings can be healthy if you doubt those teachings yet still have confidence in knowing you can find the answers and confidence there is a God wanting to show you the way. Ask and ye shall receive. Knock and it shall be opened unto you.

Again, we are talking about a word that can be interpreted and defined in multiple ways.

I have NO problem with the daily gem quote, but I have LOTS of problems with it – depending totally on how I interpret or define the word.
