Just so everyone knows, I regularly go into comments and correct basic spelling mistakes, fix quotes so they are easier to recognize visually as quotes from other comments, etc. There are hundreds of people who only lurk and read, and I want to make everything as smooth as possible for them. (The latest example is changing “delcine” to “decline” in the title of the post about temples.) If anyone looks at the editing history of the threads here, my name shows up all over the place – but only the mods and admins can see that. I just wanted to let everyone in this group know that I am doing this – and that I’m not doing anything else that I don’t mention here in this section.
I just thought we were obviously attracting a much more erudite crowd here. Thanks for disabusing me of that notion! Sounds good Ray. lol Hawk…
I changed the title of this post to be more generic (appropriate, given the title) – and to provide an official place for all of us to mention anything we do that involves editing. I don’t expect much to be more than what I mentioned previously (technical editing for spelling, grammar, etc.), but I just edited something and thought this would be a good place to explain such actions. Jordan, I removed the “guru” quote from your comment in the “Power of Myth” thread (leaving the other quotes as is), since you then quoted it as a separate post of its own. I don’t want people commenting about it on two separate, simultaneous threads. I hope that’s OK with everyone.
roger, ray. no prob. makes good sense. gail’s comments have quite a few spelling and other issues that can be quite distracting, so I have been going in and cleaning them up. I also have corrected a few things in other comments as I come across them. Just wanted to remind everyone why my name will appear far more often those the rest of you in the moderation list – so I figured I’d bump up this post again.
No problem Ray. I don’t think it’s a bad idea if you have the time and inclination.
