zinnia, lots of people complain when they get attention when they stop attending or decrease their attendance, and lots of people (sometimes those same people) complain when they don’t get any attention when they stop attending or decrease their attendance. Try hard to understand how hard it is for people to know how to respond properly and that, usually, they respond out of real concern or as a result of simply being incredibly busy themselves.

As for your meeting with the Bishop, I simply would say that you need to recharge. I like Elder Wirthlin’s talk “Concern for the One” and his listing of people who are tired. I would reference that talk, since most Bishops aren’t going to argue with an apostle, and say you are tired and need to take a bit of a break to avoid getting burned out completely. Above all else, I would avoid dumping on him, unless he is a really compassionate guy and you feel strongly that you should confide. Just understand that you can’t control or predict his reaction if you do.

    Yes…remember this important advice.

Exactly…which means you don’t need to draw attention to it either.
