I agree that, ideally, we shouldn’t “just” ask during those times – but I have no problem with anyone asking at any time. We don’t live in an ideal.
I would rather they ask than not ask. God can decide how to respond.
I agree with that as well, Old-Timer. It’s like my brother who only calls when he wants something. But neither my brother nor I are God. I also agree that God can decide how to respond, but I don’t believe God necessarily bases his response on how “worthy” we are and I believe it is a dangerous and false teaching that we can only ask God for help if we meet certain criteria. Very honestly, I think the latter is something Satan would have us believe.
