I am in the midst of reading Falling Upwardby Richard Rohr. The ideas in it tickle my stage 5/6 desire. I have attached a well written review on his book, I disagree with the reviewers final 2 paragraphs, but I get her point. Anyway, it ‘s a hopeful we might all be able to use.

I loved this book. Listened to the audible version and couldn’t turn it off. It struck so many familiar chords.

Count this as another recommendation. I haven’t heard a single negative review about it from friends.

Thanks so much for sharing that review. I have heard of the book but haven’t really taken the time to read it. I can’t wait to listen to it. I loved what this paragraph from the review states:

    Quote:

Then—a crisis. “Some kind of falling,” Rohr says, is necessary for continued spiritual development. “Normally a job, fortune, or reputation has to be lost,” writes Rohr, “a death has to be suffered, a house has to be flooded, or a disease has to be endured.” The crisis can be devastating. The crisis undoes you. The flood doesn’t just flood your house—it washes out your spiritual life. What you thought you knew about living the spiritual life no longer suffices for the life you are living.

Even reading this review helped me to feel better about my FT. Today I woke up feeling like I wanted to go back to the way things were. I was wishing so desperately to regain my “innocence” and faith. I was extremely fearful for my the effects it will have on my family and even my emotional welfare. But I realize that this is a perfect opportunity for growth and progression. Thanks so much for sharing! It was just what I needed today. I can’t wait to listen to it

Funny side note for this today. I took the book with me to the gym this morning, I’m rehabing a knee, so I bike. What better thing to do on a stationary bike than read. Leaving the gym, I got in my car, and tried to slide to book into the CD player. Everyone mentioning the audio versions, inspired me to try the impossible. It was a good laugh to start my day.
