Everyone, Featherina just wrote an incredibly ugly comment in the current Word of Wisdom thread. In it, she said people were commenting out of peer pressure and said it’s fine if mackay11 and cwald want to get drunk while caring for children, along with other similar things, but she chooses to be more responsible than that. She also said she felt ganged up on, simply because two people responded differently about the issue to her comments. It was really bad. I deleted her comment and added a note to cwald’s comment.
We have tried over and over again to deal with her attacks when people disagree with her extremist positions on some things, and she keeps doing the exact same thing. This one really was ugly.
Are we at the point where we need to consider banning her? I am torn about this, but if it was a new participant writing what she has written, we probably would have done something by now.
What do you all think?

I asked a few people who have been here for a while if they had received a PM from Featherina. GodIsLove has responded and said she got one – and that she will send it to me as soon as she can.
mom3 also received the message. She defended us and told Featherina she ought to talk with the admins directly. Her response to Featherina was what I would have expected from her.
mackay11, DarkJedi and SilentDawning also got it, but Cadence didn’t.
I’ll add more to this message when I hear from others.

Just a little heads up regarding this forum:
When I write, it is implied that it is I that am writing, thus it is my perspective and opinion. Amusingly, I have had posts “moderated” because I have not included that what I stated was my opinion.
Beware of “freedom of speech” slipping through your fingers, even when it’s “the other guy’s problem.”
I have seen and experienced a trend in this forum, and some other forums, of limiting speech regarding opinions on certain things, while praising other opinions on the same topics.
A few topics on this forum are not against the rules, however, if you state unpopular opinions about them – then they will be deleted or even rewritten by the moderator (Ray).
Some topics that have been either censored, or even rewritten by Ray:
1. Law-makers and police have determined that even a little alcohol hinders one’s ability to respond. Thus drinking alcohol, when needing to respond appropriately (esp. when responsible for my chidlren) is not response-able, so I don’t do it. Apparently that offended Ray, so Ray deleted my post.
2. Men are not anatomically designed to have sex with other men. Stating that does not mean I’m homophobic, contrary to what Ray said, in “editing” my post about that.
3. Jesus often called people out on their lies and hypocricies, but rarely, did he get physically agressive, except when he whipped people out because they were using God and the temple to make money. I believe Jesus would be similarly upset at how many, including the LDS church are using his name to make money, and not obeying the law of tithing given in Deut 14:28-29 and in the 2 greatest commandments, “which hang all of the law and the prophets.” This is also something Ray doesn’t like and will silence you about.
If you state anything similar to the above, you will likely have your freedom of speech censored, if not taken away. But if you write how it’s ok to drink while caring for your kids, and it’s ok for men to have sex with men, and it’s ok to use Jesus’ name to make money instead of helping the poor with tithes, then your posts will be fine, maybe even praised.
It reminds me of what our family read last night in Heleman before watching, “Samuel the Lamanite…”

It’s time to cut the ties with her. She is way more trouble than the value of her occasional positive contributions. I just went through my private messages and realized that we have been talking about perhaps banning Featherina for almost a year-and-a-half. Even people as laid back about moderation as cwald and wayfarer have asked about banning her. I’m going to wait until tomorrow night; if nobody objects, I will ban her. Please let me know if any of you don’t want to do that.
I don’t understand exactly why she wants to participate here when she feels that way about freedom of speech or whatever. I don’t object to a ban.
