GuestI left my intro on the intro page – so go there to see that – and so I am writing this topic on the Support page because it seems more fitting. In an effort to gain more supportive friends I wanted to promote the Mormon Stories Support Group – Especially the two near me in Baltimore and Washington DC. These communities are all regional, so people can get together and meet each other. Here is more information and how you can join. “Mormon Stories is a community of support that seeks to help people constructively navigate the waters of uncorrelated Mormonism. We strive to build a safe bridge between tradition and belief and uncorrelated belief or non-belief. We attempt to create a respectful, safe place for believers and non-believers alike.
Sign up here:
http://mormonstories.org/?page_id=1518 Encouraged and Supported Behaviors:
* The process of “gathering all the data” regarding LDS church history, doctrine, theology, culture. All questions and discussions initiated with the sincere intent of learning are supported and encouraged.
* The process of exploring the full menu of options regarding church activity, semi-activity, and inactivity without any attempt to push people in any specific direction.
* Support for navigating the tricky waters of communicating and interacting with family, friends, and ward members as folks become less traditional in their approach to the church.
* Alternative or supplementary forms of spirituality and family/community support for those whose needs are not being met by traditional church activity.
* Basically, anything that is “honest, true, virtuous, doing good, lovely, of good report, praiseworthy.”
Thanks!

GuestHi Sarah, It was nice to meet you in person the other night. I’m glad you are looking for other people in our area who might appreciate sharing the journey together. Did Ellen get in touch with you? I think she was going to connect with you via FaceBook or something, and wanted to see if you wanted to get together some time.

So how does one connect with the community if one does not believe in Facebook?in my professional field, facebook is a major no-no.

GuestWayfarer, for our local Balt-DC-Metro region they are also using the site Meetup.com. It sends out email notices. That might be more firewall/monitoring friendly
