Thanks, these are good ideas. I haven’t admitted that I am back to square one with Joseph Smith, or figured out what the practical implications of that are for me at church. Right now I can “no more than desire to believe” that the things he said happened did happen. I couldn’t truthfully testify of him as a prophet, even though I just used Alma 32. I’m really mixed up. But I can do a lot of other good things with no mental static.
FAIR is an apologetic site. They publish some wonderful stuff and some crap. They are one more source among many, and they aren’t “the Church” any more than I am.
An accurate summary, but I can’t stand it when they start with the “you shouldn’t be asking line”.
