The most out of place thing related to that statement made by God about religion is that the Book of Mormon doctrine is essentially exactly the same as religion you could find in Joseph’s day. The other side of that coin is that no one else has that authority and that all the pastoral actions,i.e.baptism, confirmation, ordination, blessing, healing, etc. performed by other churches’ priests and pastors aren’t recognized by God. I remember a conversation some years ago that I had with a rector of an episcopal church. He was trying to be ecumenical about it all until I told him what the church believes about his priesthood authority. There’s the prophet’s revelation, there’s personal revelation, but there seems to be little tolerance for a bunch of members with like personal revelations sharing them.
