GuestI’ve spent a lifetime living in the dark and I recognize it quite quickly. It’s like a cozy worm blanket that just invites you to climb under and just relax. If that’s what you’re looking for then you found the right place. I joined this forum expecting it to be more like A.A. A community of like-minded people struggling but with one common goal in mind—sobriety, or in this case to build our testimony of Jesus Christ. What I’ve found is just the opposite. Yes there are many good people here with honest intentions, but the faith killers on this site will never allow for growth to those truly seeking to cling to the iron rod.
I read in the Rules and Policies that, “This is not a site to post anti-Mormon stuff.”
I think there’s a need to better define what constitutes as anti-Mormon. Belittling and undermining the prophets, re-writing doctrine, an eye single to negativity, hope killing, nay saying, insubordination, vain imaginations, foolish hearts, professing themselves to be wise, they become fools, changing the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, changing the truth of God into a lie, and worshipping and serving the creature more that the Creator; lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. To me much of what I read here is about as anti-Mormon as it gets.
Yes “faith crises” is very real, and to those truly desirous to cling onto the iron rod seek help and support from someone who is were you hope to be. If one’s looking to improve their batting score they find a coach who has a batting average that they would hope to achieve. If you’re looking to improve with a musical instrument you take lessons from someone who is playing at a level you hope to achieve. If you are struggling with your faith avoid those who are borderline apostasy like the plague, or as Paul said, “From such turn away.”
A.A. works for a few reasons:
1-The 12-steps are scripture no one tried to re-write an easier path. It worked because it was hard.
2-A common term is, “Get real.” We didn’t accept each other’s copouts.
3-You never looked for advice from someone who had less sobriety the 1 year. Seek support from someone who is where you want to be.
4-Humility: The first three steps are all about humility. You can never overcome a difficult situation in life without first humbling yourself.
These truths are universal and you will see them mirrored throughout scripture.
Test if what I’m saying is true; watch as darkness comes forward and tries to snuff out the light. Read the comments that will undoubtedly follow and ask yourself if this is Christ like? The guilty taketh the truth to be hard, for it cutteth them to the very center.
I pray the admin’s of this site take what I have written to heart and make some changes in policy and re-define what constitutes anti-Mormon. The intensions here are good, but the execution needs some adjusting.

GuestIf that is how you feel, this is not the right place for you. Insulting and judging people is not what we do. Period. This thread is being closed.
God bless you in your journey.
