I thought Larry Wilson’s interpretation of Section 121 was very appropriate and useful. Spoke of the men in the church who exercise controlling and mandatory influence on those they’re supposed to serve.

This conference has had several useful talks.

I agree, and Elder Wilson’s talk is also good advice for parents of youth, and remembering we don’t get as much growth from controlling, but from loving, even if they make mistakes in order to learn from mistakes. Again, more tones of love and tolerance, and less of obedience and control.

    cwald and jwald,

Sundance and I will gladly save room for you in the metal chair section where we choose to sit. And if you want we will move up to the cushioned pews.

Thanks. Perhaps you should start with just saving me a lawn chair on the beach when we meet up again this summer. 🙂

Is there room for folks like me in your church? Your own prophets seem to think so.

Yes, we’ve been trying to tell you yes! There will always be members that say no, but they are speaking as man and not for the Lord.

Yes, I know you have. Problem is I have been getting mixed signals and conflicting answers for so long.

cwald – your lawn chair awaits. I am glad you had a hopeful day. I really do hope there are more to come, a lot more. Either way your chair is always available in our lives.

Always conflicting answers, that’s why it is vital to fully digest the fact that there will be much misunderstanding or false doctrine preached at church.

I thought the talks were great, one or two didn’t sit well, but most were exactly what needs to be said…over and over.

I actually felt like the GA have been listening to those of us who are on the outer edges of the paper and actually hearing us.

Yes. I got that feeling as well.

“don’t judge me just because I sin differently than you…”
