GuestYea, it is just around the corner. I have an unusual game plan for General Conference. I make a real effort to listen to the Saturday sessions. I occasionally even attend the evening priesthood session (at my local stake center). However, Sunday is a different opportunity for me. I visit other faith communities. I love to hear other expressions of faith, feel the spirit, capture the essence. In October it will be Indian Revival Church here in Bell Gardens, Calif. Because of my mixed heritage, Indian churches are a special treasure. Of course, you must know one thing about Native churches, they rarely start on time. An elderly friend of mine attended Revival church one Sunday, arriving a few minutes late. The Pastor actually stopped in his narrative and welcomed this sweet grandmother by name, “even if you are a tad late.” “Pastor,” my friend said loudly, “I’m not late, you simply made the mistake of beginning the meeting on time.” I love loud laughter in church… September 26, 2010 at 11:28 pm #235242Anonymous
GuestWhat a great idea George. Thanks for sharing it. September 27, 2010 at 4:06 pm #235243Anonymous
GuestI have been wondering about doing some other stuff George, but I’m in a different time zone here. I am trying to work out which bits I will go to see. Priesthood of course, but what else? I can’t watch everything. I’ll skip RS broadcasts for instance.

GuestI’m thinking of watching the whole thing, even though I haven’t been to my ward in many weeks (a few months?). I like the chance for a shared experience with my global online Mormon friends. I may even blog it this time. I think I am maybe starting to learn to have fun with Mormonism. That’s a good sign. October 3, 2010 at 9:39 pm #235245Anonymous
GuestI like Tom’s idea of blogging and having fun with conference. I listened a little yesterday and today but plan on re-visiting conference in the coming weeks. -
