GuestUnless I was desperate, I would never consider working for the church. I personally have a problem with the church being bound by temporal concerns (actually, preoccupied by them just like any earthly organization — perhaps more so) while having such strong claims about its divinity. Working for the church would make it all very hard on me to be in that environment. However, if I was desperate, who knows what I would do. Working for the church would be a very, very last resort.

GuestSo my job search appears to be at an end. The job I applied for at the church never went anywhere. Instead I have found a job in the heart of Happy Valley, right in Provo! 😮 Right now I’m in the Salt Lake area, but we might be moving closer to Provo to shorten my commute and save on gas costs. I’m not looking forward to having to get to know a new ward, let alone in Provo. I wish I could say my faith has transitioned into something stable already, but it really hasn’t.February 13, 2014 at 11:19 am #279017Anonymous

If I could paraphrase Forrest Gump, wards are like a box of chocolate – you never know what you’re going to get. That could be good or bad, of course.
