Badly inaccurate information could get spread all over the place…I believe there are a LOT of members who few porn occasionally, lots who view it regularly and more than people think who truly are addicted according to classic addiction measures. I just refuse to put a totally uninformed percentage on each category – and I believe most people who do are WAY off, at both ends.
Badly inaccurate information has already been spread all over the place. Not that I’m trying to add to it but personally I don’t see the harm in some speculation especially when openly expressed as such. I have seen some recent poll numbers that showed that a high majority of men questioned were viewing porn occasionally but this wasn’t LDS-specific. Then when I have already seen so many examples of active LDS men that were viewing porn at some point versus so few that I actually believe never cared that much for it or that have managed to completely kick the habit for good it is hard for me to believe that this behavior is that unusual even though many men don’t want to admit it.

Considering at the time of BY polygamy would have been fairly common, perhaps it would have been a more accurate quote to have him say then “any two-through-twenty people can have a successful marriage provided they live the gospel [and judiciously rearrange facts that would lead the law enforcement officials to conclude that there was a multiple-spouse marriage going on]!”
