GuestAs I told you in my PM. Outstanding. We need more talks like that.
You obviously put a lot thought (& probably prayer) into it.
It shows.
What kind of reaction did you receive?
Anything negative?

GuestExtraordinary! I’d like to share this with my family and stake leaders, but I haven’t figured out a way to explain where it came from.

I got a lot of positive reaction. No negative that I could tell (although if anyone had an issue with it, being that we are pretty passive aggressive in the church I doubt anyone would say anything.)
I had one sister come up and tell me it was exactly what she needed to hear and it was very uplifting to her. That made me happy to be able to help in that small way.
The ward I spoke in was the ward that I had previously been assigned to as a part of my calling so I have a lot of good relationships with people in the ward. It was interesting to speak to people after and hear the different pieces that stuck out to them.

 If you want to send me a PM with your email I can send you a copy and you can just say, hey here is a talk my friend gave last week. We can create a back story if needed

GuestWhat a wonderful talk. Simply outstanding. I can’t even remember what the talks in our ward were about. Now I wish that this talk would have been given. July 21, 2014 at 4:27 pm #287489Anonymous

GuestOur HP Group had an interesting discussion about this topic. It was very open, frank & positive, I thought.
We discussed the Church position & the extremes of the issue.
Namely, condoning Same Sex Marriage & disowning members of our family for practicing it.
The teacher emphasized that the Church does not support either extreme.
We also discussed that it was a mistake for the Church to take the extreme position in the Prop vote in California.
I know this doesn’t settle the issue. But it comes a long way, I think, from just presenting doctrine & feeling open enough to discuss this issue.
Thanks again.
