GuestChurch was great. My parents and I just stayed for the sacrament meeting. We left afterwards. Anyway, the testimonies were great, but I would like to hear a little less emphasis on the Book of Mormon, Joseph Smith, and the temple. I love those things, but, sigh, they’re not all the church is about. It would be great to testimony similar to what the General Authority President Uchtdorf might give. Great people in my ward, though. I don’t know. Sometimes I just don’t get it. April 10, 2017 at 2:28 am #320086Anonymous
GuestI live in a good ward. Nearly all the testimonies were Christ-centered, and our Bishop talked about Palm Sunday, how he likes the focus in other denominations on the last week of Jesus’ life, and how he hopes we “shout Hosanna” every day through our words and actions. He is a black-and-white guy (as he said to me recently during a very good discussion), but he is a wonderful, sincere, good, caring man. He has done great work focusing our Sac Mtgs on Christ. GuestRay, I appreciate you sharing that. I like my bishop a lot. Like many leaders he may not be able to offer any good advice for people suffering with faith crises, but he’s a very humble man. April 10, 2017 at 3:55 pm #320088Anonymous
GuestMany people understand their testimony to be a declaration for why the LDS church is the only true church – the only true church for them. Part of me feels like we as a church are still stuck in the days of JS when there seemed to be active competition about which church was right.

GuestRoy, I agree with that. It’s interesting in the 3 different versions of the First Vision how the true church or true religion is worded. -
