GuestMy son and daughter-in-law spoke in Sac Mtg today. They both mentioned that the structure of a marriage and family are not as important as the growth that occurs within them. Our third daughter spoke in the ward my wife and kids are attending until they move and join me, and she talked directly about how her mother is not perfect (using specific examples) but why she loves her anyway (with specific examples).
I have seen something of the hearts of all the women who participate here, and I want to echo what my kids said about their own mothers:
God bless you for your valiant efforts to be faithful in whatever way means the most to you. May you feel loved and accepted, and may you be blessed in your roles as women, wives, mothers and everything else you do.

Thank you, Ray. That means a lot. It was a good day, even though I had to run interference between my husband and my mother, who were apparently put on this earth to push each other’s buttons.

GuestThanks Ray – The past two Mother’s Day have been personally painful for me. Not because of anything my kids did, just because life didn’t turn out like I expected. I hope you have a good week. May 11, 2015 at 5:44 am #299106Anonymous

Wow! That’s a risky statement – any reactions from the audience during or after?

GuestNo pushback, especially since they backed it up with quotes from leaders that reinforced it. -
