Me and my husband are active in the church. We were both born and raised in the church. I love Jesus and his gospel, but I’ve begun to have some real issues with the church and some aspects of the doctrines. I’m not going to leave the church for many reasons, I believe in the actual core of it too much and it would be too hard on my husband if I left. But since I’m staying, Im trying so hard to make peace with the issues I have with the church. I’m excited to be a part of this community and hope I can find support from people who also understand the challenges of trying to stay lds! Also, I have ocd/scrupulosity and have in the past couple years gone to therapy and treated it with medication so I am hoping it is under control (I did just stop the meds which makes me nervous), but before I had treated it, it made everything about church and religion so, so hard. Welcome Landan, I do hope you find support and understanding here. This serves as a form of virtual support group of sorts. You are welcome to discuss your issues here. We do have a few guidelines for appropriate discussion but we don’t have any topics that are off limits.

Yeah, I understand that scrupulosity amplifies all the messages of “you are never doing enough” to a painful level. My wife struggles with some of that too. Unfortunately, we tend to hear much more messages of what we need to repent of and improve of and not very many of how God loves us completely, passionately, and without conditions.Welcome to our group!
