I think separating HPG and EQ is a problem. It creates a hierarchy and hierarchy begets pride. Those who don’t “advance” by their 40s feel like failures, and those who advance early sometimes are revered as super special. It’s just not right. I don’t love the lumping together of all women in RS, but I think it’s better than artificially creating advancement.

This is true. I’ve even seen pride among the wives – HP wives are ‘better’ than EQ wives. I’m sure that’s not how the Lord intended His priesthood to be used.

I’m obviously not super special, being that half my time as a HP has been spent not going to church. I see where you’re coming from, but it’s just misguided like over reverence for GAs. I will point out that there are several scripture references to the office of HP which do include references to being especially worthy or faithful and as presiding over elders. That does not indicate to me, however, they (we) deserve any more reverence or respect than anyone else, for God himself is no respecter of persons.
