GuestHas anyone else ever taken a really, REALLY long time writing a post to then have it disappear before submitting? 😥 😆 Every. Swearword.June 21, 2014 at 6:22 am #286680Anonymous
GuestYeah, I’ve learned the hard way to save my comments before hitting “Submit”. I normally don’t throw things, but . . . 👿 June 21, 2014 at 11:42 am #286681Anonymous
GuestYes. A few times. Usually what happens is I’ll type out a loooooooooooong post that no one will read ( ), hit submit, and the page will ask me to log in… even though I’ve got that little box checked to keep me logged in for forever. At this point the post is gone.I try hard to develop a:
Ctrl+a
Ctrl+c
habit before I click submit on any forum. That way I’ve got my post in the clipboard should things go south.
I feel you. The anger, the lack of desire to go though the process of retyping everything out again (it was a lot of work) fighting against the desire to post the message you wanted to post.
One time I was so desperate I even searched through firefox cache. It wasn’t there.

GuestYes, it has happened to me and it is maddening. I have a very long fuse, but that can really burn me. Like others have said, I have gotten into the habit of saving (usually just copy) before I hit submit on longer posts. June 21, 2014 at 4:25 pm #286683Anonymous
GuestBen there, done that, and I didn’t like the t-shirt, either 🙂 Even on relatively short comments, I write them up on my word processor first and then copy and paste when I’m done.

GuestIf it’s long, write it in MS Word and then paste it into the posting comment box here. Happened to me before as well. As you can tell by my number of posts, it doesn’t stop me from posting! June 22, 2014 at 12:27 am #286685Anonymous
GuestI usually draft long responses in an email editor that automatically save drafts. Pretty handy but I learned the hard way. -
