I had a lesson about charity. I started by having the eq close there eyes and picture two guys kissing.
We went on to talk about how we see others with true love, and how to empathize with those you might have seen as your enemy. Some college guys seemed blown away by the thought of people who suffer same sex attraction having no hope of romantic-celestial love in this life.
A surprising number of members shook my hand and told me the lesson was wonderful. I almost cried.
Charity is my favorite gospel principle. I see it as the measure of all we do and all the church does. It is the reason for my faith and the reason for my doubt.
I never thought I would enjoy teaching in church again, but it can be a real joy and pleasure still.
