Thanks SD. I recognize that the acronym changes and seems to be getting longer. I understand that this elongation is in an attempt to be inclusive of individuals that do not find their experience represented in any of the listed categories. However, I can also understand how this can become confusing for people that are not fluent with the community. I personally use the acronym LGBT or LGBTQ or LGBTQ+. My reasoning is similar to yours in that I am looking for a shorthand and I feel that the acronyms I use are well understood by a broad section of the population.

[Moderator Note] Thank you everyone for your contributions. I feel that this thread has run its course and given everyone a chance to converse about the church’s most recent stance in support of a bill. It can be hard to keep issues like this on topic but I appreciate the efforts from all.
