I saw the following video report from Iceland – four days after the volcano there started spewing ash. It immediately reminded me of the description in 3 Nephi 8 of the darkness that covered the land for three days. This is happening right now and is one day longer than the Book of Mormon description. (The commercial at the beginning lasts only about 15 seconds.)

The Secretary of the European Union is telling the media that a dozen or so test results are showing the skies over Europe are perfectly safe for flying (but no promises). It is the “no promises” part of the article that concerns me. Gee, stuck in London, Amsterdam or Paris, what does one do? I’m thinking museums, art galleries, famous places to eat…

I’m deleting a duplicate post. As additional food for thought though, may I suggest what if this was a volcano in Yellowstone or California? I think Volcanological Science has somehow gained new meaning and respect. An amazing phenomena in our day and time. Thanks for the video link Ray.

Craziness! In Utah last week they also had an earthquake. It’s been about 20 years since there was a major earthquake there. The end is near! 😯 😯 😯 :? :? :? 😆 😆 😆 Just kidding!

Yellowstone is a biggie. However, for modern disasters, I think Krakatoa, St Helens and the remote Tunguska event must be amongst the worst.

The Iceland business is very strange, and it will be interesting to see how it pans out. The sad thing is that I think it’s going to affect the European economy for the worse, at a time when it least needs it. (Probably North America too as a knock on)

I figure…the end is nearer today than it was yesterday.

I wonder if people during the millennium reading our history will wonder, “How did they not know the end was so near…they had so many signs!” ;)

Here’s a bonus question to test your trivia knowledge: can you spell the name of the volcano in Iceland? Just sound it out… 😆
