Based on my experiences, whenever I hear that phrase I think “talk is cheap”. When I was sitting in my pew for several months suffering and wanting out of my calling, those words carried an uncanny irony. And I suspect people who feel the sometimes unresponsiveness of the Stake might actually come away from the meeting less uplifted after hearing that. I suppose for the general memership it might be comforting. Should I ever get back into a mode where I’m in leadership again, and speaking in a HC capacity, that’s one phrase I will leave out.
