A link to a page on the Institute for Religious Research was shared by Doubting Tom in the Fanny Alger thread. While it’s not your typical anti site, it certainly does contain classic anti elements and has little to say in favor of Mormonism. (It’s anti-JW also) Here is a link to the IRR homepage https://irr.org/” class=”bbcode_url”>https://irr.org/

I’d rather it not be there, but I think I don’t feel I should make the call solo. I temporarily moved the post to the parking lot.

It counts as anti-Mormon, given what its resources say and its statement of belief.

Redact the link and liberate the rest. :D

I just saw the comment. It would be impossible to remove the link and make the comment make sense. It might be best to let DT know we can’t approve the link and ask him to rework the comment and republish it.

Thanks, Ray. I agree it’s anti, and definitely does not fit the mission of the forum. I’ll PM Doubting Tom. he’s a rookie and I give him the benefit of the doubt.

It seems Tom is just trying to show opposing views, not even advocating for one or the other.

Seems like he could try to clip a quote from something or put in his own words the opposing view, instead of a link to a clear anti- website.

His point is not bad…looking at it from both sides…maybe he can just make the point without the link.

He did respond to my PM that he found the page on Google and didn’t look at the rest of the site. He thought it portrayed a balanced view. I don’t think there was any malintent, although I’m also not sure he was aware that linking anti sites is prohibited. He is now aware and did apologize.
