Having just attended a funeral, and hearing the typical comments of “I am sure they are looking down on us now”, I began to ponder a few impossible to answer questions:

-Can the dead/yet-to-live see everything that we do now? i.e. Could my brother (who died long ago) watch me, for good and bad? Are the people who died 1000 years ago, watching us? Prior to birth, Did I watch my Dad grow up and get into all that mischief?

    – After we die, will we have knowledge of the lives of others that lived during or before us? Can we see all the terrible actions and thoughts of others? Will my wife know all the times my eyes wandered to another attractive lady? Will she know some of the thoughts I have not told her? Will my mother know of all the times I lied to her as a teenager?

It just brings up some interesting ramifications if the dead can get access to all the things we feel are private thoughts and actions here on earth. If all is revealed after death, perhaps some of us would not wish to continue on in our eternal marriages/familes. We would likely find out how human our church leaders are/were. It might make us love some people more and others less. It’s a scary thought, honestly.

Just some thoughts I was having. Don’t expect any firm answers, but I wondered if anyone had any thoughts on it.

When I reflect on how so much our life is recorded so easily now, often without our knowledge, it seems totally plausible that everything we did will be available for public consumption — if we haven’t repented from it. As I said in another thread — the scriptures indicate all our deeds will be shouted from the rooftops. And, the exciting implication — this seems to apply to the Church as well, even in our modern day. They were able to hide the MMM and even the atrocious behavior of Mormons during the Missouri days for the first twenty years I was a member of the Church, but not anymore.

    I certainly can imagine it – but I hope there are some filters for . . . certain times . . . when I don’t want anyone watching me. 😮 😳 :shh:
