Exactly. I hear Bill Reel and it sounds like that is where he bumps up against apolotists and has difficulty.

From what I’ve heard in his posts and podcasts, Bill, like many of us, can say “we don’t know” about somethings, and then the next logical step is to allow speculation because we don’t knwo, and therefore be open to a lot more options, including some prophets get more wrong than we like to admit.

Apologists just don’t want to cross that line…so they believe there is an answer for everything under the sun…we just haven’t found them yet…and so they start with the assumption answers are there and will prove all things prophets have done, and just try to take stabs in the dark because our understanding is limited…as opposed to admitting there may not be answers or the church had it wrong. Their apologist stance seems to not allow them to admit the church was wrong, because to do so is a slippery slope. One they think Bill is on.

If Bill is reading this, perhaps he can clarify if I got that right, but I would say that is the difference between us and apologists as referred to in today’s meaning of the group.
