GuestEnjoy? Yes I have decided to enjoy staying LDS. Strange as it may seem I look forward with more anticipation than ever, in seeking out truth and being with my brothers and sisters in my cultural Mormon world March 2, 2010 at 7:16 am #228003Anonymous
GuestI was just thinking about the “Enjoy LDS” title the other day. I was thinking to myslef “This site has really helped me to see the good and enjoy certain aspects of the church/gospel/culture rather than helping me to stay lds”. I don’t mean that in a bad way either, just personally I would go insane by “staying” an active lds member. This site was vitally important in regards to my journey in finding the good if not for myself than at least for my husband and maybe someday my children. Seriously posting/reading on here saved me from being overly bitter and angry. It has saved me from exploding like a timebomb – and possibly even prevented me from giving my poor DH sometype of panic attack..or worse cause for breakup.
Being a late convert I feel it isn’t my tribe. I pretty much have no ties to the church other than my DH and our temple marraige. Nowadays I’m confident in my marriage. My DH loves me and wants to be with me even though we don’t see many things in the same way, in an organized religion kind of way. I have no desire to be active, in fact going to church often causes me great grief. Maybe it won’t be so bad in the future. Anyway that freeing feeling is amazing isn’t it?

GuestGreat thread! Cadence wrote:…This is so contrary to the teaching you get in the church of how if you are not completely obedient you will suffer the consequences and be miserable. I am not miserable I am free.
May I suggest an alternate view on this? I believe in the “obedience” = happiness, therefore I’d say you ARE being obedient to the will of God. It’s always a mixed bag, but it seems to me that you have uncovered some genuine truths.
