GuestHello: Recently I had my crisis of faith and now that it has passed and i am still firmly in the church I find myself realizing I subscribed to the believe everything or nothing at all theory. I am not even sure where that came from, looking back but I now know that we are all at different levels of faith on our journey to return to heavenly father. None of us are at the same level we all learn differently and believe differently . We should not criticize each other and realize that someone besides ourselves is somewhere else in their journey . I am also having faith that the church will one day be a more mainstream christian church, I think it is possible and it will happen it is just a matter of time . well that’s about it for now. God Bless. July 31, 2015 at 4:02 am #302423Anonymous
GuestThis realization is part of the faith transition or faith maturation. I too am optimistic that members of the church will become more recognizing of this. It is not all or nothing, the dominoes don’t necessarily fall. July 31, 2015 at 4:33 am #302424Anonymous
GuestMr. Gaskill – You are one fortunate man, it took ages for me to be clear on that point. I keep hoping to see more open thinking and discussion in church. I truly believe that our own original theology, scriptures, and ideals could make a very inviting, inspiring, faith promoting, Christian centered church. My problem is patience, but I keep walking hoping to help that dream along. July 31, 2015 at 11:59 am #302425Anonymous
GuestThat concept alone, coupled with an understanding of restoration as a process even within the Church, can do more to address issues related to faith crises than perhaps any other – and change many crises into translations or transformations or just natural processes. I’m happy for your discovery.

Here is where is came from
GB Hinckley’s 2003 conference address
Quote:Each of us has to face the matter—either the Church is true, or it is a fraud. There is no middle ground. It is the Church and kingdom of God, or it is nothing.

It’s true for me in the sense that there are a lot of people high and low in the church that are trying their best to be good christians. As long as I don’t have to attest to the truth of some the rest of it then, for now, that’s good enough.
